Chapters of The Soul is a mind–body–soul podcast devoted to inspiring and guiding you to consciously write and reflect on the chapters of your soul’s journey.
Through powerful conversations and honest storytelling, we explore the chapters that shape us, the setbacks, reinventions, spiritual awakenings, identity shifts, the breakthroughs, and the quiet rebuilding seasons in between that all shape who we become. Each episode offers insight, and perspective for your own unique journey.
Alongside guest episodes, you’ll find reflections and teachings on:
• Self-leadership, self-belief and self-mastery

This is a space for those navigating life’s transitions and want depth over noise. For those chapters where you’re rebuilding, realigning, and rising from the ashes. For those who know there is more, those who are seeking alignment and pockets of peace in a fast-moving world, and are ready to step into the chapter of who they were created to be consciously.

Growth Is Not On A Timeline
SPEAKER_00Your growth is not on anyone else's timeline. Your journey doesn't have to look like anyone else's. You are being shaped by the slow chapters just as much as the fast ones. Honor where you are. Do the inner work that chapter is asking of you. Release what keeps you staying stuck and avoiding. And trust that when it's time to take action, aligned, rooted, clear action, you'll know. You'll feel it, and it'll be different because you will be different.
Why We Rush Our Lives
SPEAKER_00Today's topic is one that is going to land differently for everyone, depending on where you are right now in your life. Which actually is kind of the whole point of today's episode. I want to talk about honoring the chapter that you're in. Not the one that you think you should be in or wish you were in, but I'm talking about the one that you're currently navigating. I want to start by asking you something that I'd like you to take a moment and sit with it for a second. When was the last time you actually fully embraced the chapter or season you were in? We live in a world that has lost its relationship with reality and the seasons of life. We have been conditioned to always be doing and going after the next thing and constantly making plans, squeezing in whatever we can in our schedules, setting new goals right after we achieve the old ones, and not really taking the time to reflect and celebrate what we've accomplished. It's been normalized to expect to be harvesting when we just planted the seeds a day ago, especially now in the world of AI. Everything is moving so fast and we feel pressured to keep setting the next goal right away and just not taking the time to slow down. I believe part of the problem is that we are surrounded by everyone else's highlight reel. And it's to the point that it makes it easy for you to genuinely start to believe you're behind, or that you need to catch up and pace yourself with everyone that you see, or that you're surrounded by that seems to be ahead of you. Sometimes you might even find yourself comparing notes with other people that are in your circle. So you feel a sense of belonging if you happen to be navigating a similar chapter. It's so easy to forget that there is a time for everything. We are all evolving at different speeds and are constantly on different timelines.
A Time For Everything
SPEAKER_00One of my favorite scriptures is Ecclesiastes 3, verses 1 to 11, which talks about how there is a time for everything under the sun. I'm not going to go ahead and read it now, but feel free to read it on your own time. I will, though, summarize and paraphrase it a bit. It basically talks about how there is a time to grow fast and a time to grow slow, a time to build and a time to rest, a time to take up space and a time to go inward. All of those seasons or chapters of your life are necessary because all of them are doing something. They are all playing a part in moving the needle or adding to the story in your individual book of life. So the problem here isn't the next person's highlight reel or the chapter you're writing or navigating. It's when you refuse to honor it.
What It Means To Honour
SPEAKER_00Let's get into what it actually means to honor the chapter you're in because I really want to try to unpack this as best as I can. Honoring the chapter you're in means being honest with yourself about where you actually are and what you are being asked of in that season. Not where you wish you were, not where you were six months ago, or not where you're planning to be by the end of the year. Where you are in the present moment. Sometimes that's a hard look because maybe you're in a chapter that feels like winter, which is not as exciting and it may feel cold, lonely, and endless, you may find that you lose interest in that chapter because it feels heavy, it feels like a loss, an uncomfortable transition, a deep period of uncertainty. But instead of acknowledging all of that and sitting with it so you can fully understand what it's asking of you, you try to skip to the next chapter by powering through every commitment, every routine and expectation of you. But in the context of reading or writing a book, the longer chapters are usually the most detailed and important ones. So they require a lot of time and patience. So what you need to do is to be more intentional when you go through chapters that feel long and endless. I like to work with examples, so let's take the example of a farmer. A farmer knows that everything that grows needs a dormant season. The land has to rest before it can produce again. If we use another example of plants or trees, they also have to pull inward or be pruned before they can fully bloom beautifully. That is what honoring the chapter you're in looks like. It's about surrendering to the fact that you're being asked to show up differently. And that can look like letting go, loosening your grip a little bit, and just being open to showing up differently, even if it's uncomfortable. It doesn't mean being passive, but it does mean being intentional about what kind of action is required of you and is right for you. Most of the time, the action that's required includes more awareness, honesty, and the willingness to actually ask yourself the difficult questions. Like, what does this chapter require of me? What am I being called to do, and what part requires me to lean on my intuition and to be discerning about the action I need to take or not take?
Comparison And Avoidance Patterns
SPEAKER_00The root of why so many people have a hard time embracing their unique chapters of life is because of comparison and people-pleasing tendencies. Intuitively, you may know that you are in a chapter that is emphasizing more rest, more stillness and presence. But instead of honoring that, you still choose to commit to all the things, the same busy schedule, filled with appointments, meetups, and maybe you even catch yourself adding more than you normally would. Just because you don't want to disappoint other people or miss out on anything. Here's a slightly uncomfortable question for you. What are you being loyal to that's keeping you from honoring your current chapter? Do you find yourself rereading the previous chapters so that you avoid reading the pages of the current one? Or do you skip to the next one because you're too impatient to finish the one you're currently navigating? If you are, that means that there's something unresolved beneath the surface, and you are refusing to honor your current chapter. This is where honoring the slow, boring, lonely chapters of an action and introspection becomes the most powerful thing you can do. I know that may sound counterintuitive because we are so wired to believe that doing more and overcommitting yourself is the answer. Society tells us that if it's not working, you need to do more, you need to push more, you need to take more reps. If you're stuck, push harder. But sometimes, just sometimes, the most powerful and productive thing to do is to pause and ask the hard questions that will help you embrace and honor the chapter you're navigating. I hope that all of this is connecting clearly, but if you find that you have a hard time honoring your chapters of life, maybe it's time to ask yourself what you are actually afraid of and avoiding. Who are you trying to keep to peace with or keep up with that you choose to not honor where you are? Why are you doing it? And at the end of the day, is it even worth it? Nine times out of ten, you'll find that it's just a protection mechanism. It protects you from being judged, from being looked at as different or being misunderstood, and it keeps you in a familiar state that makes you feel safe. It also keeps you from having to face what's in the next chapter, which most of the time it's the breakthrough. It's the exciting chapter that feels like summer, but you're probably anticipating it to be another long chapter that feels like winter. So you end up blocking yourself from your own breakthrough and your own blessings. The only way out is through. You have to read all the pages and each chapter word for word to finish the book.
Practical Steps And Closing Reminders
SPEAKER_00To wrap this up, let's answer the real question. How can you learn to honor the chapter you're in? And so the first thing is you need to identify why you're refusing or resisting to honor it. Is it to people please and keep the peace? Or is it simply you're avoiding taking the action that's required of you? Or maybe you're just afraid of seeing what's next. So you'd rather keep playing it safe and procrastinating, going through it. The second thing is to make small adjustments. If your chapter is asking for more stillness and presence, you can start by committing to less things that take time away from you so that you can have more time for stillness and presence. And the final thing is to trust the chapter that you're in. Trust it long enough to stay committed to it, even if it feels uncomfortable. Because the stillness and solitude is where the shift happens. You just need to learn to honor it. I'm sure you're navigating a chapter of your life right now, and that chapter, whatever it is, however it looks like, however uncomfortable it feels, it is doing something in you. It's preparing something in you. And when you stop pretending that it doesn't exist and you allow yourself to get into it, that's when everything starts to shift and you begin to make real progress. Today I want to remind you that your growth is not on anyone else's timeline. Your journey doesn't have to look like anyone else's. You are being shaped by the slow chapters just as much as the fast ones. Honor where you are, do the inner work that chapter is asking of you. Release what keeps you staying stuck and avoiding. And trust that when it's time to take action, aligned, rooted, clear action, you'll know you'll feel it, and it'll be different because you will be different. That's the real work, and it's worth every slow, quiet, lonely, uncomfortable, and unattractive second of it. If you are feeling stuck or are stepping into a new chapter of your life, you don't have to do it alone and you don't have to have it all figured out. Send in a question about the chapter you're currently navigating, and together let's reflect and reframe it. Check the show notes and submit your what now moment using the link provided.
